Stratford upon Avon Methodist Church incorporated Henley in Arden in 2022, to become 'one church on two sites'. Together we aim to be a dynamic, growing Church with warm fellowship and outreach enabling people of all ages and backgrounds to encounter God and feel part of a caring Church family.

We offer our premises as a focal point for many local groups, as such we are often a 'hive of activity', with everything from toddler groups, dance, music, crafts, drama and opportunities to learn, especially through 'U3A' groups.

As a congregation we share a ministry of hospitality, our monthly 'Brunch' outreach, offering a full breakfast on a 'pay as you are able' basis, regularly accommodates over 100 people, with whom we strive to build deeper relationships. In recent years we have expanded our ministry amongst Refugees and asylum seekers, in association with 'Welcome Here Stratford upon Avon'. In 2024 we hosted a council led refugee week event which saw over 180 people come through our doors to enjoy a feast of food, fellowship and culture from many nations, a truly joyful event!.

We have become best known for our 'Green credentials'. In 2003 we began working with A Rocha, an environmental charity encouraging churches to pray, lobby and take action to combat the climate crisis. In 2014, after long years of campaigning and fundraising, we were able to refurbish our site. This included installing solar panels, ground source heat pump and a rainwater harvesting system, enabling us to become the first Methodist Church in the UK to receive the Gold Eco-Church award.

Our eco journey continues as we seek to celebrate and restore God's creation. In addition to exploring options for further solar panels, we adopted a Net zero policy and action plan in 2024. We also continue to support local Climate action groups, including Stratford Repair Café, which we have hosted each month since 2023.
